This Gros Ventre is not to be confused with the Arapahoan language of the same name.

Indicates that principle purpose of the visit is to obtain information on the natural history of the horse but that if possible questions posed by individuals on general natural history, geography, philology, technology, archaeology, and numismatics would also be answered.
